One week celebrations in Honor of the Late Mrs. Elizabeth Bekoe!

September 9 2017 Chicago IL:
Members of the Ghanaian Community gathered at 741 E 84th Street for one week traditional celebration in honor of the late Mrs. Elizabeth Bekoe. The late Elizabeth A. Bekoe passed on to glory on August 22 2017 at the Northwestern Memorial Hospital after a short illness. She was a teacher by profession. The late Mrs. Bekoe was an active member of the Ghanaian community. She was a member of the Okuapeman Fekuo of Chicago and the Asanteman Association of Chicago and the Midwest . She represented the Asanteman Association at the Ghana National Council, GNC, for many years and became the first female President of the GNC after President Dr. Yahaya resigned his position and left for Ghana.

Members of the community paid glowing tribute in honor and memory of the late Mrs. Bekoe at the gathering.

The funeral committee announced the following arrangements to honor the late leader of the Ghanaian community in Chicago:

Friday September 29 2017:

Viewing at Leak and Sons Funeral home. 7838 S Cottage Grove Ave, Chicago, IL 60619
From 6 pm to 8 pm PROMPT. Attire: Black

Saturday September 30 2017
South Shore United Methodist Church: 7350 S Jeffrey, Chicago IL.
Viewing: 10 am to 11 am
Service :11am to12 pm
Attire: Black

Interment… Oakwood cemetery, 1035 E 67th St, Chicago, IL 60637, immediately after the service.

Traditional final funeral rites:
328 S Marshfield, Chicago Illinois.
Attire : Red and Black
Time : 8 pm to 2 am prompt

Thanksgiving service
October 8 2017 at the South Shore United Methodist church 7350 S Jeffrey from 10 am prompt.

Reminder: Kwami Sebeh ( aka Agya Kwame) had scheduled his late mother’s funeral on that day but magnanimously gave it up to the Bekoe family. Members of the community are encouraged to attend Kwame Sebeh’s late mother’s funeral scheduled for October 28 2017. Details later.

The President of the Chieftaincy Council Naa Issah Samori , representing the Chiefs and the Northern Union.
