The Time Will Come
I have been asked by many people including media practitioners to comment (positive or negative) about the performance of the Akufo-Addo led NPP Administration. Some have wondered why I have been “silent”. Others in the media have not been too happy when I have turned down opportunities to comment on specific matters that have arisen this year.
There is no need for speculation here. I have a policy to wait at least six months after a new administration takes office to make any kind of direct comment about its performance. So what I did during the tenure of the Atta-Mills and Mahama led Administrations is what I am doing now. After an election, given our multiplicity of challenges, we must give the President and his administration time and space to find their feet and show us what they can do. So I am taking in what is happening now, good and bad. After July 1st, 2017, I will be ready to write and talk about my assessment of the performance of this current administration.
I am doing my part as a citizen, by working, investing, creating jobs and providing opportunities for local development where I can. I am using my weekly radio and TV program ‘Ghana, Great & Strong’ to promote national causes and initiatives that will make a positive impact on our society.
There is a time for everything.
