Ghana@ 60 Chicago

Like many Ghanaian communities abroad , Chicago’s dinner dance commemorating Ghana@60 was a blast! The Ghana National Council as expected delivered on the promise to upscale this year’s celebration because of its historical significance ! The DJ , Live Band and Youth performances were all epic !

“At long last, the battle has ended! And thus Ghana, your beloved country is free forever…”, the most famous independence speech by the first President of the First Republic of Ghana , the late President Kwame Nkrumah on March 6, 1957 was stunningly delivered by Master Kofi Bugyei .

James Cromwell’s brilliant skills on the trumpet confirms he could be an absolute trumpet legend if he gets the appropriate stage and audience! His performance of the tune “what a wonderful world” by Louis Armstrong, brought the audience to their feet with rounds of applause!

The only blots on the event were the very late start of such a high scale event due to tardiness of the organizers and majority of the Ghana National Council members absence from the event ! We however give Paa Kwasi Sam and his young administration an “A” for a good job done!

We at wish the Ghanaian community a happy and memorable celebrations!
