Judgement Debt: Court grants stay of proceedings on Woyome’s case

The Supreme Court has granted the application filed by lawyer for businessman Alfred Agbesi Woyome to withdraw its application to stay proceedings over the 51.2 million Judgement debt paid to him by the state.

This was after his lawyer, Osafo Boabeng had informed the seven member panel presided over by Justice Sophia Akuffo that he intends to withdraw the application filed.

This compelled the Court to grant the application and awarded the five thousand Ghana cedis cost against Mr. Woyome.

Meanwhile, the Court has also adjourned to the first of next month to deliver its ruling in which, Mr Woyome is challenging an earlier decision by the Court to allow Mr. Amidu to orally examine him over the retrieval of the money.

The Court also ordered Osafo Boabeng to file response to the case on or before 17th of this month.
