Ghana’s rich men and women have accumulated a tremendous amount of wealth during the last twenty (20) years, according to the recent Goodman AMC Ghana Wealth Report.
The wealthiest 80 individuals and families have a combined fortune of $29.3 billion, controlling some 6.4% of the nation’s GDP. Together these entrepreneurs employ over 150,000 Ghanaians directly.

The list which was released today July 23, includes 3 billionaires – who together account for a total wealth of $3.96 billion – and 5 women multimillionaires who control a total of $1.62 billion.

Dubai-based Ghanaian businessman Charles Ampofo, who owns the Kampac Group, is named the richest man, with an estimated fortune of $1.46 billion.

Mr Ampofo made his fortune through investments in his oil and gas firm based in the business hub of Dubai.

The second richest man in Ghana, according to the report, is $1.3 billion-rich-Ernesto Taricone whose operations span across real estate, aluminium, agriculture, construction and forestry.

Ghana’s youngest millionaire as identified by the report is 39-year-old founder of The BEIGE Group, Mike Nyinaku, currently in control of $125 million.

The 5 women on the top 80 Ghana rich list are Patricia Poku-Diaby the richest woman in Ghana with a net worth of $720 million followed by Theresa Oppong-Beeko, Kate Quartey-Papafio and Gifty Lamptey and Grace Amey-Obeng in that order. Read the full report from here
