The “friendly skies” have become a little friendlier for South African businesswoman Siza Mzimela. She made history in September of 2015 when she launched her own airline, Fly Blue Crane. As the first Black woman to own and operate her own domestic airline, Mzimela has carved out her own spot in Black history.
Fly Blue Crane is an inexpensive alternative for South Africans. But Mzimela hopes her small fleet, which flies within the African nation, will boost the economies of smaller cities in her country.
