Three surgical clinics at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital have been shut down.
A statement signed by the PRO of the hospital Mustapha Salifu said suspension of operations in the surgical clinics takes effect on Monday February 8.
The clinics to be affected are Urology, General Surgery and Neurosurgery.
“This is to allow for work to be completed in some of our theaters and recovery wards at the Department of Surgery that are being rehabilitated and re-equipped to improve the quality of care.”
The statement however added that arrangements have been made to respond to emergency cases.
“It is hoped that all stakeholders will work together to speedily complete all outstanding works to enable us resume normal operations.”
