Voters’ register: Bawumia misleading Ghanaians – Gen Mosquito

The General Secretary for the National Democratic Congress, Asiedu Nketia, has discredited the NPP’s claims that the 2012 voters’ register has major anomalies.

The New Patriotic Party at a press conference addressed by the flagbearer, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his vice presidential candidate, Mahamudu Bawumia claim the 2012 voters’ register is “incurably flawed and cannot be relied on for the 2016 elections.”

Dr. Bawumia, who made a presentation on the results of some investigations carried out by the NPP team, alleged that over 76, 286 people with same names and pictures are in the voters’ registers of both Ghana and Togo.

“The EC and John Mahama have questioned the credibility of the register on the basis of the size of the register,” Bawumia told the gathering on Tuesday.

But speaking on Si Mi So on Kasapa 102.3 FM Tuesday, the NDC General Secretary said Dr. Bawumia is becoming notorious for standing on his qualifications to deceive Ghanaians.

“I can pardon anyone else who puts out such allegation, but not Dr. Bawumia, who is a statistician with a PhD. Because of the high education he has in recent times he sought to always throw dust into the eyes of ordinary Ghanaians whenever he mounts a political platform.

“This is the same man who claimed President Mahama had about 240,000 votes from abroad added to his votes to enable him win the 2012 election, but when he appeared in court during the election petition hearing he couldn’t prove any such thing.

“My high respect for him keeps reducing anytime he does this kind of politics, I’ll advise him to stop this or will soon lose his respect Ghanaians had for him prior to entering politics.”
