Tension is mounting in Tuobodom, a suburb of Techiman in the Brong Ahafo region, following a chieftaincy dispute which has resulted in the killing of six people.
The deceased were reportedly shot to death Wednesday afternoon. Two of them were burnt beyond recognition, the Tuobodom Police Commander Peter Sekyi confirmed. Three houses were also torched in the process with rivals firing gun shots.
Police and Military have stormed the area to restore calm.
Starr News understands that the conflict erupted due to disagreements between two rival chiefs who are claiming legitimacy to the Tuobodom stool.
A local reporter Owusu Yeboah who narrated the incident to Starr News said the situation is worrying.
Yeboah added that many of the town-folks have started fleeing town.
Bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the Holy Family hospital morgue in Techiman.
