Governor of Akwa Ibom, Godswill Akpabio, introducing his wife to President John Mahama

President John Dramani Mahama returned home Sunday, from Abuja Nigeria, where he held discussions with his colleague, President Goodluck Jonathan. The discussions described by officials of the presidency as very fruitful, centered on a number of issues, key among them the completion of work on the West African Gas Pipeline and also President Mahama’s proposal to colleagues along the Gulf of Guinea for a combined effort to fighting the menace of piracy along our coast.

Before flying down to Accra, President Mahama made a stop over in the Akwa Ibom State of Nigeria. He was received by the Governor of the State, Godswill Akpabio, the Speaker and members of the State House of Representatives, Commissioners and former Governors of the State. Accompanied by Ghana’s High Commissioner to Nigeria, Ambassador Baba Kamara, Deputy Information Minister Designate Felix Kwakye Ofosu and officials of the presidency, President John Mahama encouraged the two countries to continue to strengthen the bonds of friendship and cooperate meaningfully to bring development to the two countries.
