Chris Brown has voiced his opinion on how the Ghanaian media tried to stir up things when he performed in the country.
Brown, 23, ultimately played it smooth by letting the issue die- down before responding to claims that, he allegedly smoked weed whilst on stage in the West African country.
The apparent situation took place on March 5, at the Hope City concert.
“It was the press over there that made a big fuss about the whole thing, everything else was cool. It was just the press, so it made it seem like it was a situation but it was not.” Chris Brown states in a recent interview.
Since the incident hit the press, Brown had been slammed with backlash and accusations for encouraging concert-goers to jump on the band wagon and smoke weed too. Ministers, government officials and members of the public have condemned his act and called for the authorities to implement some action.
Brown, has since spoken out on Power 105.1, stating that, ‘It’s a fake light, like the way they have the pre-rolled tobacco so at every show I fake it. Now that I gave the secret away, but in certain cities like Amsterdam and LA, I definitely did. But as far as in places where I can get into trouble, I avoid it.”
Organizers of the concert- Charter House, deny reports that the Hip Hop star smoked “weed” during his performance at the event. According to the events company, Brown smoked a cigar and not marijuana.
Brown, then continues to tell the radio presenter, “There’s a thing I did on my whole tour called Smoke By The Brain. So, it’s a part of the show that goes to a collage of all the songs that talk about weed and everybody knows I have a medical cause for marijuana, but for me I don’t smoke it on stage.”
