GHANA NATIONAL COUNCIL FINALIZES PLANS FOR GHANAFEST 2015

As a result of our publication this morning we received the news release below from the GNC President, Mr. Ebenezer Antwi-Nsiah.

Although Ghanafest 2015 is more than 30 days away, the Ghana National Council of Metropolitan Chicago is finalizing plans for the event and has already released flyers for the event and is marketing the event at various avenues.

The investment initiative that was launched by the GNC at the beginning of the 2015 would be incorporated into the event. Plans are near completed for Ghana’s President His Excellency Mahama’s visit which would coincide with his round-table discussions with Ghanaian and non-Ghanaian businesses in Chicago. Ghanaian religious institutions in the Chicago Metropolitan Area will have a bigger part to play in this year’s Ghanafest than in previous ones.  Religion is also a big part of Ghanaian culture and should be emphasized and showcased.

Interest in sponsorship of this year’s event has gone up and more corporate vendors are expected at this year’s event. NGOs would also be visible at Ghanafest 2015 as part of the restructuring and change of the direction of the Ghana National Council’s overall mission. Updates would be communicated to the public periodically as we draw near to the date of the event.

We would like to thank all members of the Ghanaian community in Chicago who are lending helping hands in organizing the event and would like to appeal to all Ghanaians and non-Ghanaians alike to get on board to make this year’s event the most memorable one.

Ebenezer Antwi-Nsiah

President – Ghana National Council
