Latif Mbazua, who has been on the police wanted list, was mistakenly killed by another robber when they raided Zoemilla, a mining community in the Talensi district.
The police have retrieved an AK 47 riffle and some ammunition from the deceased, according to Superintendent Alex Frimporng, the crime officer for the Upper East Regional Police.
“Ihey were three in number and attacked a woman and robbed her of her Gh¢5,000 and in the course of the firing they mistakenly shot their colleague. He was shot in the stomach and we retrieved his body at a park,” Frimpong told Starr News.
