So close, yet so far. Ghana’s under 20 coach Sellas Tetteh could not guide his side to the African Youth Championships victory this time, after doing it in 2009.
Sellas could have become the only coach to win the trophy twice.
He lost to Egypt for the second time in as many meetings, but this on penalties. The Young Pharaohs won 5-4 on penalties in Oran.
After ensuring qualification to the World Youth Championships as well, the coach wanted a repeat of his 2009 victory.
“I think we’ve come a long way and we’ve worked very hard,” he had said on Monday.
