Ghana: Free Palate repair

The Ghana Health Service in collaboration with Vodafone Ghana and Operation Smile Ghana are organizing a FREE CLEFT SURGERIES for people with deformities on their lips. The Surgery covers both CLEFT LIP AND CLEFT PALATE.

A cleft lip is a physical split or separation of the two sides of the upper lip and appears as a narrow opening or gap in the skin of the upper lip. This separation often extends beyond the base of the nose and includes the bones of the upper jaw and/or upper gum.

A cleft palate is a split or opening in the roof of the mouth. A cleft palate can involve the hard palate (the bony front portion of the roof of the mouth), and/or the soft palate (the soft back portion of the roof of the mouth).

It is therefore announced for the information of staff to identify people with such deformities in their areas of operations and inform this office accordingly. We again entreat our officers to do aggressive case search to enable us offer a helping hand to such people

Such people when identified would be offered Free Surgeries to correct the deformity. Further, they will also be provided with FREE TRANSPORTATION, ACCOMODATION AND FOOD during the medical mission.

The operation/surgeries would be conducted at the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital from 9th April to 19th April, 2015.

Infants/Kids and Adults of any age from anywhere in Ghana are all qualified to enjoy this free services.
