Dutch-born Ghanaian forward Elvis Manu has made a speedy recovery and is in line to face AS Roma today in the Europa League.
Manu was expected to be out for eight weeks after having surgery in January but the speedy attacker has declared he is fit now and will face the Italian giants in Rotterdam
“I have been back sooner than expected. The medical staff had promised me that I would be out for at least six weeks to eight weeks after my surgery in January. But I am back in five weeks,” Manu told AD.
“I was very happy with it. It is like liberation for me. The rhythm is gone and the weather is just finding strongholds. But all returns. Hopefully, Thursday against AS Roma I will play.”
Feyenoord drew 1-1 with Roma in Italy and the return of Manu will be crucial for coach Fred Rutten as he eyes a Europa League quarter-finals.
