Shop owners and water vendors Wednesday away free bags and boxes of ‘pure water’ to New Patriotic Party supporters who embarked on the ‘Won Gbo’ demonstration in Accra.
The traders who sell along the routes where the protesters marched through told Starr News the gesture was their contribution to the course of demanding regular power supply in the country.
The NPP is using the protest to express the frustration of Ghanaians over the current energy crisis.
Pressure group OccupyGhana has also joined in the ‘won gbo’ demonstration.
Ghana is currently shedding between 440 and 650 Megawatts of power during off-peak and peak periods as a result of a production deficit.
