Lawyers for detained fashion icon Kwasi Kyei Darkwah (KKD) have described as unfortunate, comments by some legal practitioners on social media to the effect that they are not on top of the case.
Gary Nimako, one of the lawyers for the ace broadcaster has told StarrFMonline.com that claims by Mr Samson Lardy Anyenini, also a Lawyer that they should have rejected the hearing of the case before a magistrate court, is baseless.
According to him, their priority was to secure the liberty of their client and not to put themselves in confrontation with the court.
“Our interest is not whether there is jurisdiction or there was no jurisdiction.
“If your client is in custody, you don’t labour yourself in legal gymnastics, it doesn’t make sense,” he stated.
He said they are confident in their legal procedure for securing bail for the popular MC.
KKD appeared in a Magistrate court in Accra Tuesday for the first time following his arrest and detention for alleged sexual assault against a 19-year-old girl.
The CEO of the Finest Productions will therefore be spending the next week behind cells at the Airport Police Command.
