The Ghana Prisons Service has made changes in the title and designation of it’s top management.
The change is to clear ambiguities that distort the uniqueness of the ranking system which often makes it difficult for the public to differentiate between senior management and ordinary administration designations of sister Security Services in the country.
A statement signed by its Chief Public Relations Officer, DSP Vitalis Ayeh notes that Director General of Prisons will now be called Controller-General of Prisons.
Deputy Director General is Deputy Controller-General of Prisons.
Director of Prisons will be called Controller of Prisons, Deputy Director of Prisons is Deputy Controller of Prisons. And Assistant Director of Prisons now Assistant Controller of Prisons.
The statement adds that all other ranks below remain unchanged .
